Rivers State Southern Religious and Traditional Leaders Engagement (SORTLE)
Rivers State Southern Religious and Traditional Leaders Engagement (SORTLE) project State health committee was inaugurated in the State on the 28th August, 2023 at the Golden Tulip Hotel Stadium Road Port-Harcourt.
The committee is a 12-man committee chaired by His Royal Majesty, Sir Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse, DSSRS who is also the Chairman Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers.
The Committee was inaugurated by the Commissioner for Health ably represented by the Executive Secretary Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board (RSPHCMB), and are saddled with the responsibility of ensuring Oral Polio Vaccination and other Primary Health Care interventions are accessed by all in Rivers state, using their systems and structures to drive demand generation for these services within the state.
The Chairman of the Committee reassured the Commissioner that the committee is very much excited to collaborate positively with everything that will impact on the health of Rivers people for their benefit going forward.
