The Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir Siminialayi Fubara who was ably represented by the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Prof Ngozi Odu, paid a scheduled visit to Model Primary Health Centre Rumuigbo in Obio Akpo LGA on the 29th of March, 2024. This was one of the government’s efforts to ensure high level supervision of PHC services across the State.
She was accompanied by the Management of the Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board, headed by Prof. Kinikanwo Innocent Green.
During the visit, The Deputy Governor expressed her satisfaction with the standard of primary health care services being provided and was glad that mothers and community trusted the services offered. She also commended the mother of a set of quadruplets who brought her children to receive child care services in the facility
Prof Ngozi Odu lauded the efforts of the Management team, the Medical Officer of Health and the Staff of the facility.
She reiterated the commitment of the Government to address Human Resources for Health gaps and reminder all that recruitment in to the Health sector had commenced.
The Deputy Governor also urged nursing mothers to continue to prioritize their children’s routine immunizations and other maternal and child care services.
During the visit, Prof Kinikanwo Innocent Green, the Executive Secretary of Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board, expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Governor for the visit and also highlighted the remarkable achievements of His Excellency, Sir Siminayi Fubara administration in the health sector and re-stated the commitment of the Board to deliver on the mandate of the Government.
Amongst those present during the visit were the Paramount Ruler, Chiefs, women, men, youths and residents of Rumuigbo and neighboring communities.
This visit underscores the dedication of the Rivers State Government to providing quality primary healthcare services to its citizens.
