Rivers State Celebrates African Vaccination Week 2023

The Rivers State Primary Health Care Management board (RSPHCMB) in Conjunction with World Health Organization (WHO) marked the 2023 African Vaccination Week (AVW) Celebration in 10 LGAs with an outreach to communities having zero dose children on the 19th May 2023

African Vaccination Week is observed annually during the last week of April and this year the theme for the week is  *The Big Catch Up* connoting  a global initiative by WHO and partners to boost efforts to reach children who have missed immunizations especially following the COVID-19 pandemic and its resultant negative tolls on various health indices.

Vaccines still remain the most effective way to prevent diseases and save lives and it is essential that we continue to promote  vaccination and increase access to vaccines in order to safeguard every child, adult, and communities from diseases that can be prevented by Vaccination.
